Puller Park

Building a Legacy One Brick at a Time

In 1955, Lt. General Lewis Burwell "Chesty" Puller, the most decorated Marine in the history of the U.S. Marine Corps and the only Marine to be awarded five Navy Crosses, retired to the childhood home of his beloved wife, Virginia, in Saluda, VA.  The Middlesex County Museum & Historical Society is located in Saluda and is relocating the original site of Puller Park onto the museum’s property. The original granite marker honoring Lt. General Puller will be placed in front of a newly erected flag pole and a brick base will be constructed around the pole.  We invite you to be a part of this piece of history and to honor your loved ones by purchasing a memorial brick.

Each tax exempt donated brick will be engraved with your name or that of someone you wish to honor and remember. The bricks will be placed near the granite marker and flag pole honoring Lt. General “Chesty” Puller. There are four donation levels for the bricks, and each level builds on the previous level. For every level, you will receive a special Certificate of Registration recognizing your contribution and confirming the inscription(s) you have submitted as they will appear on the engraved brick(s).

We extend a Special Thanks to the following for making
the relocation of Puller Park possible

Dominion Energy
Kiwanis Club of Middlesex County
Middle Peninsula Detachment #1317 Marine Corps League
Tri County Vault
The Garden Club of the Middle Peninsula
