Building a Legacy One Brick at a Time

The Newton House Restoration Project is a community-driven effort led by the South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society to preserve and restore one of the region's most historically significant homes. The Newton House is a pre-Civil War home built by John and Penelope Newton, with John Newton recognized as one of the founders of El Dorado, Arkansas. Located in South Arkansas, the home represents an important piece of local heritage, reflecting the architecture, culture, and early development of the community. Funds raised through this project will support structural restoration, historical preservation, and necessary improvements to ensure the home can serve as an educational and cultural resource for future generations. Once completed, the Newton House will provide opportunities for tours, educational programs, and community events, helping preserve South Arkansas history while creating a meaningful destination for residents and visitors alike.
