Historic Mauldin House and Gardens Preservation Project

The Friends of the Mauldin House, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is dedicated to preserving and promoting the Historic Mauldin House and Gardens located at 458 Jefferson Street in Clarkesville, Georgia. Currently, we are working on many different projects to preserve the three historic structures that reside on the property: the Mauldin House (an 1880s late-Victorian farmhouse), Mrs. Maggie's Millinery Shop (a c.1900 hat shop), and the Big Holly Cabin (an 1820s log cabin). We plan on restoring the Big Holly Cabin which has experienced age and weather-induced deterioration, providing better climate control for the Millinery Shop, and updating the Mauldin House for the enjoyment and education of the public. All three buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and are open to the public for free as a part of the property's local history museum.
